Expectations for Hi-Fi audio quality demand that performance and reliability are proven by automated testing.
A headset simulation test verifies that the AV socket is properly assembled and functional. An AV plug is pneumatically inserted into the device and detection is checked.
Specially made, long-lasting connectors are used. Headset features are simulated by manipulating microphone and loudspeaker lines with different impedances. Audio signals from the left and right channels are routed to the instrument for processing. In most cases, a loop measurement is executed where a separate instrument feeds an audio signal to a mic line, and the device routes that to the left/right channel for the instrument to process.
