Odd Shape Placement by JOT Automation
These past over 10 years have confirmed us that the Odd Shape Placement and Pin Through Hole ( PTH ) component processes are very much valid and important part of the electronic industries manufacturing processes. JOT Automation Odd Shape / Odd From placement machines and robotics are based on basic idea of high productivity and quality of process. The process of placing odd components out of the standard Surface Mounted Components ( SMT ) lines has to be simple and reliable process. In most of the cases are not needed anything special or too complicated to achieve the effective results. Main issue for JOT Automation Odd Form component cells are the reliability with proven mechanics and robotics together with the years of experience of software development and process know-how including feeding, pre-forming and gripping systems to achieve a reliable Odd Shape component Feed & Pick & Place-process.
A large amount of automotive, consumer and also telecommunications companies use for their products manufacturing processes which means large component placing with pins; capacitors, connectors, resistors etc. These mostly passive components are out of the placement range of the standard SMT machines and are needed to be placed with a diversified machine. Depending on the manufacturing process, either SMT type of Pin in Paste ( PiP ) or regular PTH the requirements differ amongst each other. Today there are also quite many active components e.g. mini-cameras to be placed with an Odd Shape assembly machines after the SMT and Reflow process where normally most of the components are assembled. For the future these more and more complex production requests demand a suitable and flexible odd component placer which makes the production lines more and more efficient and reusable.
